In Kajiado County, Kenya, the 100MW Emarti Hewani Wind Energy Farm is in the final stages of the feasibility phase. Located south of Kenya Marble Quarry approximately 90km southwest of Nairobi, the facility has a capacity factor of more than 40% and is capable of generating more than 350GWh per annum.
This project is a special purpose vehicle that has been incorporated in Kenya for the development of a hybrid power project that comprises wind and solar PV. Currently in the final phase of feasibility studies, with most developmental approval obtained, it is expected to achieve financial closure by the end of 2024.
